I’ve consulted several. One book featured Cree and I became friends with an amazing First Nation chap who gave me so much help. Also had a book featuring a Punjabi hero and I had several Indian folk who helped with language, customs, food, etc.

#1 Brindle’s inquisitive stare stayed on the blood trail for a moment before moving to Hunter.

#WritersCoffeeClub – 21 Feb. Share an unexpected critique you’ve received. Why did it surprise?

I once received a DNF review. The person said she was shocked by the explicit scenes and language. She quoted a couple of sections saying how disgusting they were. Mentioned she had only read the first 50 pages before giving up.
What surprised me was 1) all blurbs about my books share warning about explicit sex and language;
2) there were only 4 sex scenes in the entire book of 375 pages covering maybe 4 or 5 pages each;
3) one of the sections she mentioned was at the end of the book, around page 350.

#ScribesAndMakers - 14th Feb. How are things going for you this month, creatively or otherwise?

Mm. I had intended to complete the first draft of the final book (7) in a series. Instead had an idea for a new story so had to start writing that instead.
I know I have to get back to that last book - probably only have 10-15k left to write.
